Eifel-Blick "Panoramablick"
Schleiden
A magnificent view is offered here on the edge of the village of Dreiborn on the Dreiborn plateau 567 metres above sea level. The view stretches far in a south-easterly direction to the hilltops of the Volcanic Eifel.
At an altitude of 540 metres above sea level, the Dreiborn moated castle is the highest in the Rhineland. In its 700-year history, periods of splendour alternated with terrible devastation. The consequences were repeated reconstructions and demolitions, so that only a few parts of the buildings and castle towers remain from the former imposing complex. More than 250 years ago, Dreiborn moated castle was surrounded by magnificent rococo gardens.
