Adjiri Odametey grew up in the Ghanaian capital Accra, where people of different ethnicities have always cultivated their musical traditions. Through his tours abroad as a teenager, he became acquainted with a wide variety of styles that influenced him. Adjiri Odametey was a member of bands such as the Pan African Orchestra and recorded their debut album "Opus 1" at Peter Gabriel's legendary Real World Studio.
With his "African World Music", Odametey has created his own individual style - always conscious of his West African roots. The press writes about him: "His life is a prime example of the possibilities of a cultural clash. His interest in both traditional African and modern Western influences provides a rich foundation on which his unique musical talents are based." As an ambassador of authentic African music, he effortlessly manages the crossover.
Adjiri Odametey became known through the title track of his first CD "Mala". Now he presents "Ekonklo - on the other side", his fourth CD. He is one of the most impressive representatives of African music today.
