Orgelkonzert in der Schleidener Schlosskirche
May 23, 2025
Schleiden
Italian organist Paolo Oreni from Treviglio will be the opening guest.
Oreni plays works by Bach, Handel, Mozart and Scarlatti on the historic König organ from 1770.
Paolo Oreni was born in Treviglio in 1979. At the age of 11, he began studying organ and organ composition with master Giovanni Walter Zaramella at the "Gaetano Donizetti" Music Institute. He won several competitions and played with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Milan's La Scala, among others. Paolo Oreni has recorded numerous CDs and is a frequent guest on radio stations. Since 2006, he has regularly taken part in master classes for improvisation and literature playing and is regularly invited to take part in international competitions as a jury member.
Curious fact: Oreni is also an expert in organ building. And so he designed his own concert organ. It is currently the world's largest transportable organ. The Süddeutsche Zeitung writes: "Oreni is a promising, talented artist, a wonder of skill with phenomenal precision that is still unparalleled."
