Jul 18, 2025
Schleiden
The "house organist" and initiator Andreas Warler from Schleiden plays the organ in the castle church. He exclusively performs works by Johann Sebastian Bach, including Toccata, Adagio and Fugue in C major, BWV 564, the great chorale partita "Sei gegrüßet Jesu, gütig", BWV b678 and Prelude and Fugue in D major, BWV 532.
Andreas Warler was born in Baasem, Eifel, in 1965. His path led him to study theology in Passau, where the cathedral organist Walther R. Schuster discovered and encouraged his special talent. He completed his studies in church music in 1992 at the St. Gregorius-Haus church music school in Aachen with the grade "very good". Today, Warler is the organist at the Schlosskirche in Schleiden and is the main church musician at the GdG Hellenthal-Schleiden. The artist has recorded a total of 11 CDs on the König organ at Steinfeld Basilica.
